T O P I C R E V I E WLou ChinalDoes any one have any information on the shuttle escape personnel parachute? I know it has a drouge chute, but what type? How big is the drouge? Is it a guide surface, ribless guide surface? Ribbon? Ring-Slot? How big are the slots? Does anyone have one? Can I go to JSC to watch one being packed? Any information would be helpful. -Thanks, LouLCDR Scott SchneeweisPage's 8 and 9 of the following pdf (link) includes much of the information: http://www.shuttlepresskit.com/scom/210.pdf ------------------Scott Schneeweis URL http://www.SPACEAHOLIC.com/Edited by LCDR Scott Schneeweis on September 21, 2007 at 05:45 PM.Lou ChinalScott-O.K.- Thanks! It's a 54 inch ribless guide surface. I would still like to see one up close! For anyone that's reading A Navy 26' conical is the ideal emergency parachute. It's what I used in a Cessna for many years and I'm glad to know it's used in the Shuttle today.-Lou
-Thanks, Lou
